"We stayed at Poipu Crater # 20 in Kauai for two weeks during august 2011. The unit was well furnished; the kitchen recently renovated and the location very quiet and convienent. The unit included some snorkelling gear, flippers, a boogey board, two beach chairs and a sun umbrella. This unit is located in a ten acre (approximately) property and includes a tennis court, a pool and barbecue area. The gardens are well maintained with some banana plants, lime trees and various other tropical flowers. The main beach is less than two minutes away. Overall, we found the unit to be very good value in a quiet but convienent location. We have recommended this unit to our family and friends. "This condo was a major find! We will be back. Everything we needed was here, very clean, well maintained and really felt like our own tropical home. Poipu Crater is an amazing discovery that we found on Trip advisor. The resort is quiet, private, and just like having your own home. Very unique and truly Hawaiian. We loved the big pool surrounded by big old Plumeria trees and the giant lanai of this unit made it easy to live outside a lot of the time. The condo is light and bright and airy with an awesome kitchen and beautiful beds that were great to sleep in. Be advised that not all units are not remodeled and outfitted the same. We had some friends staying in a couple of other units, and they did not have the high quality and were not kept up like this unit at all. Everyone wanted to be in this unit the entire time! We were surprised to find ice chests, boogie boards, games, and a big screen TV. All added to a wonderful vacation. "This Poipu Crater townhome was immaculate and the complex was quiet. Since we stayed there in late July, it was a little warm in the afternoon, but the trade winds cooled the home by evening. The grounds were gorgeous. There is much to see/do in the Poipu area including several beautiful beaches, Spouting Horn, botanical gardens, snorkeling, boogie boarding, kayaking,and surfing. We dined only informally, but enjoyed Huka Dog, Brick Oven Pizza, Bubba's, and Lappert's Ice Cream. Without reservation, I recommend this property and hope to stay there again someday. "This townhome was phenomenal. Thanks John for this vacation experience! What an unexpected pleasure. The website did not do justice to the amazing grounds and quiet tropical location. Not knowing Kauai, we felt very lucky to have stumbled across such a beautiful location close to all the Poipu beaches and restaurants. At night we could hear the sound of the crashing waves from the bedroom window and every morning there is a chorus of birds singing. We are walkers and there are plenty of ocean front paths easily reached from this location and there are beaches close to walk to. We were able to park the car in our own private stall right next to the condo which made all the loading and unloading easier than trekking to a parking lot. The condo was very clean and well appointed. The furnishings were all up to date and so beautiful. Not what you typically find in a condo rental. The large lanai worked out great for the 4 of us to eat our meals and relax. I don't think we ate inside once. The mattresses (and a king bed) were wonderful and a pleasure to sleep at night with the trade winds blowing. We would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking. "We have stayed at this condo a number of times and always found it in great condition. The appliances including a large screen TV are all new, The condo complex has a very nice pool,tennis and club house .The grounds are very attractive with much mature plantings . It is a very quite and restful atmosphere. We particularly like the location. Just a few minutes walk to some of the nicest beaches on the island but far enough to avoid the bustle of the beach activity. So far in 2011, we have spent 6 of our 12 weeks in John's condo on Kauai, enjoying every day.The new king size bed in master bedroom is definitely a plus, as is the new lanai furniture. The complex is unique, quiet and well maintained, a few minutes from the beach, hotels and some great restaurants but a world in itself where you are surrounded by beautiful birds and flowers. Very nice pool, tennis and clubhouse. The unit itself is clean, well-appointed, decorated in the island style and offers all you need for a perfect vacation. The best part for us though is the master bathroom on the second floor (very nice to have the two bedrooms on separate floors in case there is 4 of you). Waking up to the sound of birds and looking at the amazing bougainvillea facing the large window rivals with any 5 star hotels we stayed at. The large lanaii also became our living quarter, using it from dawn til dusk. It simply feels like the home everybody would want to have on Kauii. Poipu Crater is a magical place -- having such a well established gardens, and being in the crater sheltering us from the rest of the noise.
